Come join Rabbi Barclay and the TNS community for a special evening of study in our monthly Talmud & Tobacco session. 

The topic will be: "Anti-Semitism: A Hate that Mutates"

Anti-Semitism is more prevalent than at any time since the Holocaust, but why? How did this practice of hatred become so "normalized", especially in America and Europe? On college campuses and in businesses? What are the historical and theological roots of Anti-Semitism, and how is it expressed in the 21st century? How is it possible that self proclaimed Nazis and publicly Anti-Semitic individuals can be serious contenders for national public offices? How is it that we have national Congressmen and women spouting anti-Semitic remarks, embracing anti-Semitic action, and nothing seems to be done about it? What CAN we do the combat this rise in hatred that has been expressed in Pittsburgh, Poway, on campuses and in the Middle East, and even in our own neighborhoods?

Together, we will learn to understand the roots of this despicable practice, recognize how it is manifested in 21st century America, how it is at the very root of the war in Israel, and give tools for fighting this evil. If there is only one session you go to this year, let it be this one...for the sake or our children and grandchildren.
