Candidates Speaking on Jewish Issues
It is important for every person to be informed on the stands of political candidates, especially with regard to issues that directly affect the Jewish community. Below are brief interviews between Rabbi Barclay and each candidate about these issues that directly affect our community.
District Attorney
Erik Nasarenko, Candidate for District Attorney
Through his campaign manager Cheryl Heitmann, Erik Nasarenko refused to speak before the Jewish community on Jewish issues, offering to sit down only after the election.
Claudia Bill-de la Peña Candidate for Board of Supervisor
Claudia Bill-de la Peña had an hour long phone conversation with Rabbi Barclay wanting to know exact topics to be discussed. She told Rabbi Barclay that she would "ask her advisors", and subsequently responded that she WOULD NOT be videotaped discussing Jewish issues.
